OSHA Seminar @ Murphy Insurance Group

The Risk Management Department is pleased to offer a 10 hour course in construction safety and health as authorized by the OSHA Outreach Training Program. OSHA Seminars are held periodically at The Murphy Insurance Group and are tailored to fit the exposures of the companies in attendance. The seminar will take place on December 16 & 18, from 11:30am to 5:00pm each day. Participants can request a copy of the 1926 CFR (OSHA construction regulations) and are issued a wallet sized card from the US Department of Labor upon successful completion of the course. This 10 hour course can also apply toward the 30 hour course if all are completed within 6 months.

Temporary Labor and OSHA Seminar @ Murphy Insurance Group

Due to an increase in the use of temporary labor and consequent boost in severe injuries and even fatalities to these workers, OSHA announced a new initiative to help protect temporary workers in 2014. Commercial Vehicle Compliance & DOT Update Seminar @ Murphy Insurance Group

Many companies are not aware that a half ton pickup with a trailer can be considered a commercial vehicle. Several federal regulations apply to commercial vehicles — those over 10,000 pounds inclusive of the trailer — even when they only operate within the state of Wisconsin. In this seminar, a Special Agent with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) will discuss the effects of new regulations and how to avoid fines and delays from out of service violations.
